Safavid Small Silk full

This small textile is comprised of narrow strips of woven silk with metal thread, sewn together and with borders sewn around. It is backed with a piece of dark silk fabric, joined at the edges to the striped fabric you see around the edges, and lined with the lovely piece of printed cloth shown in the last picture. A typical Persian presentation.

The meticulous lovely drawing is paricularly accentuated in the upper rows, where more dark brown outlining thread is present
