Jaf Kurd bagface - hexagons
Kurdish bagface with hexagon panels
late 19th century, 21” x 22”
Despite some wear and losses, this finely woven and intensely colored bagface is a lovely example of a less commonly seen variant of the bagfaces full of offset knotting. The drawing of the rosettes in the border is also uncommon. Note the intriguing symbol woven into the center of the top border.
